I don't remember now what put it into my head to make it into a series. I do remember the challenge I set myself was to create four paintings that could be exhibited in a sort of "circle with no beginning and no end;" yet could also be exhibited separately. The titles had to work the same way, and I actually created them first. The original sequence was "Once/Upon a Time/It May Have Been/In a Dream," with the idea that you could begin at any place in the series and it would still make sense. Silly, maybe, but I think it's kinda neat.
