Career Highlights

  • 1991 to present, artist & owner, Arcadia Art Studio. Fine art, calligraphy and art instruction.
  • 1991 to present, teaching positions include Center for the Arts (Manassas, VA); Taboret Art Supplies (Manassas, VA); Westminster Retirement Village (Woodbridge, VA).
  • 1982 to 1987, Prince William Public Library. Designed and produced art and graphics for publicity department (part-time).
  • 1977 to 1991, freelance graphic artist (part-time).

Education Highlights

  • Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design, Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina, 1977.
  • Post-graduate credit courses in watercolor, computer graphics, desktop publishing and photojournalism, Northern Virginia Community College, Manassas and Woodbridge, Virginia.
  • Workshops and non-credit courses include calligraphy, oils, watercolor, mixed media, pastel, acrylic, color theory, abstract art and marketing for artists.
  • Instructors include William Dunlap, Noyes Long, David Daniels, Judy Weingrovitz, Christine Coviello, Joe Phillips, Carolyn Grosse Gawarecki, Steve Fleming.

Professional Memberships

  • Prince William Art Society, Woodbridge, VA, 1993 to present. Positions have included president, programs coordinator, and shows committee chair.
  • Manassas Art Guild, Manassas, VA, 1997 to present. Currently serving as Secretary; previous positions include president, vice-president and show chair.
  • Blue Ridge Arts Council, Front Royal, VA. Member, 1999 to 2001.
